Default my ef keeps overheating on short distance drives...

it over heats crazy then it goes back down and then gets hot again then cools down i checked the radiator and did a radiator flush changed the coolant and the radiator cap fan is working and there is no thermo and the engine is a 1.6 singlecam zc with like 55k on it.. what can it be.. help!?

no smoke no weird sound though?? and idk the thermo was gone when i bought the car it looks like they did a half *** job with the zc swap theres wiring everywhere dude

is it actually overheating? or is it just the gauge saying its overheating? maybe it could be some bad wiring.

put a thermo in there. Before reading that part I knew your car would be without one. >.> Sounds stupid but my girlfriend's car was bought without one too and I put a thermo in + bleed the system and it hasn't overheated since once.

The previous work on the car was done by a ****ing shop too. (Prior to her owning it). Have receipts for everything too, and the receipt(s) even say that it was replaced.

yeah its over heating cuz its draining the battery. I thought it was just the gauge too. Maybe the radiator cuz bottom hose doesnt have pressure in it.

is it missing coolant every other couple of days?


my car was doing the same thing..i would have to add water every 3 or 4 days

i tried bleeding the system and it kept bubbling turned out being my head gasket...

it wasnt smoking eaither...

**** is that its not the head gasket thats y i cant find what it is. cuz i know the signs to a blown head gasket.... The coolant isnt bubbling.. but it does smell.

new update: just changed radiator and fan and new coolant and yet still its heating up... HELP!!!

i was also thinking what if its just the guage but nope cuz its draining the battery cuz of how hot its getting..
