hey guys i recently picked up a 98 dx coupe and the trans grinds 3rd and the throw-out bearing is very loud. So i was gonna drop the tranny and replace the throw-out bearing and my buddy has a eg si trans (d16z6) that he will sell to me for cheap. So i was wondering if the input shaft spline is the same (d16y7 to d16z6) and also if the speed sensor and reverse sensor and the trans mount are all the same? Also if i have to get different axles?

I have a y8 trans in my si eg and everything was the same. As far as I know the only difference between the y7 and the y8 trans is the gearing.

 

They also have bigger diff bearings in the Y8 tranny along with a roller bearing instead of a ball bearing for the second countershaft bearing.
