hey guys... i keep looking at the apr gt200 wing ive been running and im sure its generating way too much drag... even mike skeen said theres probably not much of a benifit to running this foil design..

so what are you guys running?
ive seen foils from bimmerworld, aeromotions and hrp
looking for some other sugestions

Are you trying to fit into a series? Also is are you dealing with bigger power and tires? I run the gtc200 but my setup is not like most.

 

i am seeing a lot of kognition airfoils around now.

 

This is what my brother is using. Solid engineering, reasonable price, great quality. If I was looking for a wing, this would be on my list. I don't care for the APR business on a tin top car.

I wanted to go with a kognition but they didnt have anything for my integra and still may not? they are very nice pieces for sure and have great design for the mounting to be extremely solid. That is only real reason I was displeased with my apr until I made my own stands...

 

If its a DC2 Integra there is Mugen gen 2, Voltex, and J's wing made just for that chassis.

I picked up a voltex earlier this year, but I haven't had a chance to test it on track.

 

The J's Racing and Voltex look similar enough to the APR that it probably would not be any better. Michael, if the wing struts/mounts are the problem for you, talk to the Kognition guys, they can probably fab you up something to a particular measurement. Or you can talk to my brother

 

I just put an APR GTC200 my Integra and noticed a huge difference with downforce. My times didn't show it effecting my speed or anything. But that was my first weekend with it on.

The kognition looks like a niece piece, but again it's another $1500 wing. I only paid $250 for the APR brand new.

I use a APR gtc200 wing on a DC; it kept the back from going out at the track a noticeable amount.

 

I'm also in the market for a wing and have been considering going the GTC200 route. I like the design of the voltex stuff but I can't justify the cost, at $1400 for a wing I'd rather get something from Kognition.

I do hate the stands for the GTC200 though, guys who are running their own stands what are you making them out of and do you have any pictures of the designs?

 

I also use an APR GTC200 w/ PCI brackets on my EG hatch. I have heard mixed theories that it will do more harm than good as far a increased drag is concerned.

I like it, it feels stable and more planted on high speed straights where as before the *** would lighten which was less than confidence inspiring, especially upon braking from said high speed straight.

My lap times have also dropped, albeit not significantly. I also have no way to be sure that it is attributable to the wing....again....all I can really say is I like it and have no intention of removing it despite what theories are out there that oppose using it.

take it to a drag strip. do a couple runs with it on and with it off, hillbilly wind tunnel of sorts. should give you good info as long as the variables remain close to the same.
