Default Crower 63403 Cams

Hey, I just recently finished building a b18C1 for my Integra. I used 81.5mm ITR pistons, comp cams valvetrain, arp rod bolts and head and main studs, and Crower 63403 cams. I was wondering if anybody has any experience with these cams. Will they have clearance issues with stock timing (using stock cam gears). I compared the lift of the vtec lobes, which is .468 inches for the crower cams with CTR cams and S2S2 cams, and the crower has a little more lift than the CTR cams but almost .04 inches less than the S2S2 cams. I'm now experiencing new engine nerves (nervous about it blowing up on the dyno and stuff) because it is my first engine build. I had the help of some professionals at JR Motorsports, but we didn't clay the engine because we didn't know how to engage the VTEC lobes to check that clearance. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Disclaimer: I have no idea what I'm talking about.

I'm particularly interested in clearance issues with aftermarket cams so I've been paying attention every time I see an article about it here. I've never checked any clearance myself but I'm still non-VTEC and at my level it hasn't been an issue.

Anyways, people here tend to complain more about valve-to-valve clearance than they do about piston-to-valve clearance. Of course cam timing issues come into play here. My opinion is do it right or don't do it. I would personally pull the head and check the clearances and at multiple valve overlap conditions (testing cam adjustment) so once you have it together, you know what it can do.

I have so many times wanted to test and play with timing stuff and if I didn't know for sure that it would clear then it's kinda hard to go back and check it once it's running in the car.

i think they make a tool that you can use to engage the vtec so you can check it.
