Icon6 new to me honda 2006 civic dx

Hey guys im going to do a bunch of stuff at once here.

So my name is dave and i have had a honda before i had my new to me honda civic 2006.

my old one was a 99 civic and it was a great little car but i got rid of it to get a truck big mistake as i go to school at UTI in norwood mass and it is a 100 mile trip daily so i came back to what i know and love and that is not my 2006 honda civic DX.

NOW! with the civic it doesnt come with a freaking arm rest.... BIGGEST PET PEEVE there. now i have been looking around the forums for what i need but every post i come to is different. so i need a straight forward answer.

ALSO! i dont have power locks. another thing that kinda gets to me... would like to upgrade that to power locks. also need a straight forward answer. now im guessing the wire is in the wiring harness. but that is a guess so please correct me if im wrong.

Those are the 2 big things that are getting to me. now i know your going to ask the following information (maybe)

2006 honda civic 1.8 manual.

any suggestions from people that have made these changes would be a great help thank you.

Dave I would go to a junk yard and find a 06 to 11 civic and get the whole arm rest section out of a LX or EX with a stick.

The automatic center section might work but I do think you would get a better fit with one from a stick.

The doors might be wired for locks, but you would have to go thru quite alot of work and expense to put the system in, I would go to the after market and find something off the shelf.

I would look t someone like JC Whitney to find a kit for your locks, then check e bay to get a better price.

thank you man.

i know alot of junkyards as thats what i used to fix my truck also when something broke. but those were pickaparts. (99 and older) usually junk yards around me have a $50 dollar fee for something.... but thank you very much i will look into it..

btw i kinda expected the locks to be harder but hey gotta do what i gotta do to get it right were i like the car.

You are better off without power locks and power windows. They will eventually stop working, because they are electrical.

The arm rest idea is valid and you should look for one, from a manual, LX or EX.

I would recommend upgrading your front sway bar, to that of an 07 - 08 SI and installing the rear swaybar and endlinks, also from an 07 or 08 SI. It's under $300 (new) for both and it is the best money you can spend on your DX.

If you want to get, almost, 1 mpg better mileage, install a K&N air filter.

Change your cabin air filter, with one from O`Reilly, AutoZone, Advance Auto, etc., for $8

Spray some `Original Armour All` on your belts

A rear disk brake, is also an option, while you are at the salvage yard.

Check you sun visors, for splitting (on their tops). I think that Honda will replace split visors, for a couple of years, past the warranty period.

You might look for a axle back, from an SI, but you need to buy a new 2" id donut, for the installation.
