Default Fabric softener for car seat?

I spray painted one of my eg civic seats black using vinyl and fabric, but now the fabric is a little spikey and rough. Wondering if there is anything I can rub the chair with without washing it or putting water on it? Maybe a sheet or cloth of some sort? A friend said use fabric softener, but too bad it's mainly all liquid products. I need something I can easily get locally, like the grocery store, etc.

Have you tried maybe a hard bristle brush? I don't think what you need exists. You could check a fabric store. Also think about applying some kind of anti-fade.

Hard bristle brush? Wouldn't that like scruff off the paint a bit?

Back up. Paint as in spray paint? Even the fabric? Or are you talking about fabric/vinyl dye?

It is spray paint. The seat came out nice when done spraying the whole thing. The bad part is, the seat is a little rough in some spots because now the fabric is painted. I took a wet rag and wiped it down and rubbed it a bit to soften it up. It's not as soft as it was unpainted. I need something to really soften it up. Some spots are just spikey. It's completely dry though.

Sounds like you over-applied it so I think you're screwed. I watched this video
http://duplicolor.com/projects/project/vinylFabric/
and they don't look to have use so much that it would give the result that you got.

Nevermind, I got it lol. I didn't use to much of it though. I sprayed light coats. I took a small bristle brush (something to scrub dishes with) and dipped it in some warm water and scrubbed the seat down. Lots of black particles came off of it lol but it's softer now. Thanks anyways.
