Default got a new kz440

hey just thought id share, just got a 82 kz440, 300 bucks, in not too bad condition. only things ive found so far, a little rust in the tank, needs a starter clutch (damn electric only) maybe a cupple carb parts and some tweaking. and tires are old. the fenders have been a little cut, not stock bars, but its pretty clean, and you have to look at it to tell its not stock.

this is just to suppliment my 88 cbr 600 and 81 cb900. kinda just stumbled upon the deal

im excited, so i just thought id share. anyone else tinkering with an old beater bike?

Default Re: got a new kz440

I had a beat up KZ250 for awhile this spring but sold it. I was looking for a KZ305 for a commuter bike, but gave up.

I was looking for a decent 250-400 cc commuter bike to replace scooters, but I went back to scooters for around town riding/errand running, etc. My Elite will do 45-50, which is fine for where I live.

I also tinkered with a 1981 Honda Twinstar for a few months. I ended up giving to my ex-gf for her birthday in June. It's her first bike. She likes it. It's good for 55-65 mph depending on wind and grade.
