sup HT i changed both axle's on my em1. the driver side axle was tore up it would make a cracking noise when i would make a left turn sounds like if something was breaking. so i replaced it & still when i make a left it does that horrible sound. am i looking at a axle problem or tranny? please let me know thanks

hopefully its that but it sounds like a metal to metal when i make a wide left turn!

 

get a passenger and roll the windows down, now both of you hang your head out and see which side its on. go from there.

thats the best way to tell

edit: do this in a parking lot and not on a street or something so you dont loose your heads

also, if you have a well trained ear you can tell if its coming from the outer or inner joint which helps to tell you whether its coming from tranny side or hub side

 

im almost positive its your wheel bearing/s check for tiny filings or discoloration where center caps are or should be good luck

 

or balljoints.

an axle will make the noise as the wheels go around; a balljoint will just bang a couple times at random
