k-series tranny on B-series motor.
I was wondering if anyone has reallly read up on the new K-series motors and know their tranny's. I have a b16a in my crx and was wondering (even though I think it is not likely) that I could drop a type-s 6sp tranny in there? I would love to have a 6th gear cause i get shat for highway mileage. I have an s1 and all of my mechanic buddies say there is no chance of fitting a 6th gear in my tranny.
the b series and k series are not interchangeable b/c they mount totally different. also the k series spins the opposite of all other honda motors...
well does anyone have any ideas for me, besides swapping out my 5th gear of which I am already aware. have any of u ever heard of anyone having a 6sd with their b-series. I totally forgot that the engines are inverse now, I feel stupid.
if i get a LS tranny (which i already have considered) my 1/4 mile timeswill be like a second slower. I dont want that, I guess i will just have to switch out the ls 5th gear. my tranny would be perfect if i had a 6th gear.

i still dont get that. how in the hell do you add a 6th gear by taking out the reverse??
its PART of the synchro hub between 1st and 2nd! and using the reverse idler gear, it has the gear spinning in reverse!
you would have to make a custom mainshaft and 1st/2nd synchro hub and even then i dont think it would work.
does anyone actually have a clue how 'they' add a 6th to our 5spd B-series trannies? and would you mind explaining how its done?
