Icon2 Mobile Home in SF Bay area

I don't want to talk to a Realtor. I've gather a few info, and just want to confirm with you guys.

What: Mobile Home.
Area: Milpitas, SJ, Fremont, east or south bay area.

Questions.

1. When you buy a mobile home, you got to buy the old one. If you don't like it, knock it down, and then buy a new one to put it in the same spot. Even with the economy, the old ones are like $150K. You are also paying for the value. The new one is like $150K. So you are really looking at $300K.

2. I heard space rent is like $1,500 a month. There is pretty much nothing in the $500 range for space rent, or one would really consider living in. Again, using Milpitas or SJ, or Sunnyvale. Not the hood in Hayward or San Leandro.

Are my numbers pretty much right? If not, please throw out some examples.

TIA

I know someones who lives in a mobile home in vallejo.
Rent is 500ish with utilities
and it only cost him 14k
His neighbor there just sold hers for 25k.
There basicaly small apartments in a box.
Nicer than I'd expected.
These are all the older ones, not the newer kind
and they let you tow in your own
