Default Need some help pulling a trans out of an Accord. Please help.

I know this is not the right section for this but I need some help fast and the Accord forum moves at a snails pace. I figured someone here may have some experience with this so... I have a 02 automatic 4 cyl accord and i want to replace the trans with a rebuilt one but i need to know how the trans comes out. Can I separate the trans from the motor and drop the trans from the bottom? Do you have to pull the motor and trans out together from the top then separate them? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

you can seperate the engine and trans in the car just put a jack stand under the oil pan with a would block between both. Be ready to be pissed and it sucks... I hate doing it that way but can be done

So I would assume that means it would be easier to just pull the whole thing then separate them put the new one on then put the whole thing back in?

Intake valve or ignition issue.

Pulling the whole motor and trans out of the Accord will require disconnecting a lot more wires, pipes and hoses. Either way has its ups and downs. I'd put jack/block under oil pan and attach a hoist to the trans and drop the trans on a piece of carpet or something to drag it out.

Automatic trans will be much easier to drop than a standard as far the disconnect goes. Just remove torque plate bolts and mounts on the trans (among other things) and pull it back about an inch.

Wrap/tape axle ends in newspaper to protect sealing surfaces.
