Shift Linkage + Bitch Pin
So we just got done putting my car together. Put the shift linkage back together. Couldn't find the bitch pin, so we found a bolt and nut that fit through the hole. Figured that would be a LOT easier than pounding that pin in.
Now the car has SO much slop in the shifter. If you're in 5th, you can actually move the shifter over into the 1st gear position. When you rock the shifter side to side, the selector shaft actually rotates. Could this be because we used a bolt instead of the pin somehow?
Is there something we missed that prevents it from rotating??
Thanks!! I feel like a n00b, but this is bugging me!

It was an easy fix that has the same exact concept as the pin. Also, we could not FIND the pin, and needed to get the car running so that it can go get tuned. Was just seeing if that was the cause. Not even sure how a bolt the same size as a pin can allow that much slop in the shifter bar, but I guess I'll order a bitch pin and see....
make sure theres no room in the shift linkage where the bottom of your shifter mounts to it. Theres a bolt that runs through and if theres no spacers or movement then that could be the problem too.
OK I'll double check it. We pulled the motor and swapped it out, so we just disconnected the linkage at the trans. I don't recall anyone messing with the linkage AT the shifter, but something to consider.
a bolt will leave ya wobble as poop man. no matter what, not to mention it will make the holes bigger from shifting.
gimme postage i have like 10 of them pins

You pretty much need the right pin, they're about $2 from your local Honda dealer, also, they should be replaced with a new one every time they're removed.
