95 Civic LX won't start - cylinders flooding with gas
searching this forum usually does the trick, but i am at my wits end with my non-starting car. i will try to be as thorough as possible with my description. i am a honda newb but have been working with cars for a while. car is a 1995 civic LX, manual trans, 200,xxx miles.
car started and ran perfectly. while installing new stereo, my battery was disconnected and reconnected with the key in the 2nd position about 15 times. first i smelled gas, then saw gas trickling out from splash guard under car.
the motor was apparently flooded with gas to the point that it would not turn over. i guess this is from the fuel pump priming every time i reconnected the battery. i let car sit overnight to allow gas to evaporate.
car sits all day. motor turns over but still will not start.
yesterday-
removed spark plugs and turned motor over in an attempt to "blow" excess gas out of cylinders. after doing this covered the head cover to prevent debris from getting into the cylinders and left spark plugs out for a few hours to let excess gas evaporate.
while plugs were out i changed the oil. the oil smelled like gas and was very thin. replaced spark plugs with new ngk's. when i was putting the spark plug boots on i mixed up clyinders 1 and 2. after the car failed to start i fixed the mixup, but the car still failed to start.
today-
still not starting... what would you troubleshoot first?
i realize there are a lot of these threads out there but thought maybe someone might have gone through this same thing? or something? thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any help!

The fuel injectors should not spray fuel into the cylinders unless the key is turned to the ON(III) position. As you only turned the key to ON(II), it suggests the fuel injectors are improperly receiving ground from the ECU or due to a short.
update: car is running better than ever thanks to new ignition coil and spark plugs. guess i fried it trying to un-flood my motor.
