Energy Suspension Bushing set
I recently purchased the full kit for my 91 hatch of just about every bushing on the car. My question is: Should I take my car to a dude that knows/ and or has done this before, in order to get them installed, or should i try and get em on myself. The only thing I'm worried about taking it to a mechanic is that I dont want to just have some dude take my money and bushings and say he put em on when really he didn't. The one good thing is they are red so ill defiantly be able to tell the main ones would be new if installed.
Well since what you posted about not knowing how to tell they were replaced I would say STAY AWAY FROM TOUCHING YOUR CAR... only let a "qualified mechanic" touch your car, change your oil, and any light bulbs that need replaced.
The best bet for you, is remove all the parts that you want to change bushings for (front and rear upper control arms, lower control arms, sway bar end links, tie rods, etc) and send them to a shop along with the ES kit to have them press it in.
Changing bushings usually required a press. You can change them yourself with a torch (mm burnt rubber) and a work bench vice, but if youre not too sketched out about a professionals work then just pay the man his money. Just do all the dirty work. Removing the suspension components is an easy task anyway.
