Default zc distributor!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Hey i know that the 88-89 teg distributors fit the zc motor but are there two different distributors that come on the 88-89's??? Like one that fits the zc motor and one that doesn't??? I have one from an 88 supposively and it looks like an 87 one, were thier two different distributors for those years??? thx

ttt, if you didn't really understand the above post, i'm trying to figure out if the 88-89 tegs had two different distributors??? do the different models have a different distributors that are like the 86-87's??? thx again and i need help!!!

not sure if there were two different ones for 88 but you need one with the internal coil - unless of course you want to run external coil, then it wouldn't matter

86-87s have vacuum advance distributors.
88-89s have the "normal" (88-91 stock civic looking) distributors.

it's prolly an old one and the somebody who sold you the thing didn't know what year it was. maybe?

sorry for the sloppy terminology above, can't think of the correct name...

any '88-89 integra distributor will work fine on your ZC.

fwiw, i've never heard of an 88-89 teg dist. NOT fitting a ZC motor.

I just got one from Autozone (asked for '89); they didn't mention having a choice (not that they're the best place for answers), but it bolted up fine and worked. For what that's worth.
