don't waste ur dough on a ZC (not saying they r bad engines) just save up and get a b-series. Depends how fast u wanna go past that.
here's the B family (add any on if I missed some)
b18a -non vtec 90-93 teg ls motor 130hp
b18b -non vtec 94-01 teg ls motor 140hp
b16a -vtec jdm tegs, crx, civic sir usdm delsol dohc vtec, si -160-170 hp
b16b- vtec civic sirII -185hp
b17- vtec usdm teg gsr 93 only (very limited don't bother) 160hp
b18c- vtec 94-01 gsr 98-99&01 type r tegs 170-195hp
b20 - crv up til 01
you can do b16 head on b18b block or b16 head on b20 block all kinds of variants.
u should be able to find plenty of info on motor swaps on here with the search function.
you will have to be more specific with what you want, do u know anything about honda engines. Is your crx a hf dx or si?
you can IM me if u have a bunch more questions AIM name supligirt or u can instant message me on H-T.

the thing you'll have to remember about swaps though...your car uses a cable tranny, all of the B-series engines after 94(I think) use hydraulic, so, you need to make sure you stick to cable trannys for the B16, most bolt up to any of the other B-series which makes it easier to do.
