Hi, I have 2003 Acura 3.2TL with 72000miles,yesterday when i was driving i see jerks while shifting the gear from 1st to 2nd and then runs normally.I know there was recall in 2004 and Moreover i am new owner of this car..I don't know whether the previous owner fixed the transmission or not...what i am supposed to do now...

Any one please help me out...

 

Unfortunatly its a common problem with the TL's 2nd gen and 3rd gen, I would first attempt to call an Acura service center and cite the recall and explain your issue, they may be able to help, if not you may just have to bite the bullet and handle it yourself. If thats the case I would first try a proper flush and see if it helps any, if not you may end up having to replace the unit.

 

your 1-2 and 2-3 clutch packs are probably toast and you need a rebuild. It happened on our 2003 TL and 110,000 miles.

 

Transmissions are junk on those cars, common problem... sad, but true.
