new to the forum but not to cars or fabricating. Have only done steel and mostly industrial stainless steel up untill about 3 days ago.

welder i had been using was a pretty crappy diry cheap harbor freight tig welder but man i must say i was impressed how many projects i did with that thing.... here is an example of its weld.

(mind the tig welder i used to do this was less then 200 bucks brand new)

anyways... i FINALLLYYYYYY upgraded to a grown up welder.

so here is the first welding i've ever done with aluminum... i have a lot to learn but i think im gonna pick it up quick.


so i figured why not do a trial by fire and build myself a sweet intake manifold for my go-fast car.

(sadly im pretty low on cash not after buying the welder so im doing a cheap version of a manifold, aka staring with a stock one)

 

so started chopping it up and getting it ready...







then did a bit of cleaning up on the insides of the runners...

welp stay tuned. going to get the aluminum tomm i need to starte welding this sucker together.

not sure what trottle body i wanna use yet but i got time on that.
then after the intake mani im gonna build a ss top mount turbo manifold.

yeah i know i have been slacking. had to wait till i got a good welder befor i jumped in.

got all my materials today so tomorrow its game time
