Default 1990 Civic will not start possible fuel issue.

1990 Civic LX
1.5 Liter
Manual

I have been having some issues with my Civic recently. It started with a rough idle and what seemed like a misfire then after driving it like that for approximately 2,500 miles or so it stalled on me at a light and once re-started, would not stay running without keeping my foot on the gas. I had taken the valve cover off and looked the make sure all cylinders were working properly and I thought I had the issue traced to a lack-of-fuel issue. After I put the valve cover back on and re-connected everything, I cannot get the car to start. It will crank but it will not turn over. I have put in a new main fuel injector and a new main relay but this hasn't changed anything that I can tell because it still will not start. When the issue first started I could hear the fuel pump turn on and prime but now it doesn't seem to be working. I am not sure what to do I live in Knoxville, TN and go to UT and I have to have my car fixed ASAP to be able to get to class. I would have given up and just taken it to Honda but now that I can't get it started that option is ruled out for me.

Any help is appreciated.

what i would try first is to:

turn key onto the on position. list for fuel pump to prime.

no prime, then your going to have to see if your pump is getting power.

if your getting power then your pump is bad.

the power wire to the pump should be a yellow/black wire

you can remove the bottom back seat and uncover the wire to test it.

I have a similar problem with mine but its stall while driving, but I close the ignition and re-open and it runs for about 5-7 seconds before I have to do it again. I concluded that it is a bad fuel pump relay - the one found under the datch on the driver side. I pulled it out and its smelling like so. Now the problem that I'm having is that 4 years ago when the problem started - car's been seatting since - someone indicated to me that the relay was bad and he handed me one. However the one he gave me was not the exact model and me not knowing anything I went ahead and hacked the connections and plugged that one in. Now after all this time I am positive that this is the problem; I purchase yesterday the exact Fuel Pump Relay for the car but Im having problems with matching 3 wires. Been searching for a wiring diagrams and lookig in the book, but nothing. Any pictures of the actual wire matching and such? Unfortunately they dont go to one place, but instead to many other components, ECU, Battery, Fuse Box etc.

Thanks.

Changed the Relay today and it continues to do the same. Don't know what else to do.
Thanks.

Distributor cap and/or rotor?

I had this problem on my EG LX. Would bog til death and i had to keep the rpms up to keep it from dying on the way home. Replaced the dizzy with a junkyard one and ran fine.

I took it to Honda and they said it had a loss of compression in the first and second cylinders but that's all I know for now.

Honda suspects it is the rings. They will tear it down to find out... for an additional $280ish. IF it is the rings they estimate it would be $1200 to fix. About $800 of which is labor. O_O
If I had that kind of cash to spare, I would probably tell them to go for it. I don't care that I paid only $1400 for it, I like my car and I want to keep it. I would just like it better if it were running properly...
Suggestions?
