RPM fuel cutoff
I redlined my car today on the street which i don't normally do. I took it as high as i thought it could go without fuel cutoff kicking in. I believe this is at 8650? Anyhow i looked at my peak number on my VAFC and it measured 8864. I am using the stock ECU with stock cams and i know i am fine up to 9100 with the stock valvesprings. I dont rev that high often at all. Anyhow my question is how come it let it get that high of an RPM? I know the VAFC is actual and indicated it was about 9k on the tach. Thoughts from everyone please

I've hit my rev limiter a few times, but I noticed it happens way over 8400. I don't remember exactly where it kicks in, but it's less than 9k. The 8650 you mentioned sounds close, but it's impossible to say exactly because I'm usually just glancing at the tach while upshifting when that happens.
Yeah i knew the P73 rev limiter kicked in at 8600. Like i said it registered 8864 on the VAFC as the actual peak RPM when i was driving today and decided to redline the car.

i wouldnt mind knowing as well, i missed a gear(wouldnt go in to 2nd) and went to over 8700
Reid: that is comforting to know but does that really hold water? I mean isn't the VAFC wired directly into the RPM sensor wire? No reason it would just be wrong or faulty electronics?
You didn't go to over 8700 rpm, you cannot with a stock ECU.
( I know that is what you meant but I feel bitchy)
