Default Oil Pan Gasket

I'm going to be changing the oil pan gasket on my 92 S this weekend and was wondering if there's going to be any surprises I might run into, or just anything out of the ordinary that might make things difficult.

Well the downpipe will have to be removed, or at least disconnected from the primaries and the mounts and let hang. Sometimes those bolts are seized pretty bad.....after that the gasket is pretty easy. Hehe drain the oil first, and I believe there may be a specific tightening order on the oil pan. Clean the gunk out of the bottom of the pan too.

I did this on my 92 Si4WS. It was easy. But took a long *** time. Yes you have to drop the exhaust. I managed not to snap any bolts. Spray some lube on it a while before to loosen the bolts. You will need to buy new gaskets for the exhaust. On the H23 the exhaust bolts onto the back of the block also. Other than that it is a combo of 35 (I think) Bolts and Nuts combo. You tighten the bolts across all the way around. Be sure not to lose any bolts because that is the biggest kick in the *** if you loose one bolt you finish but can't drive it till you get it. Make sure you have a long extention on your socket to be able to reach the bolts on the exhaust because they are on there really tight. Make sure you don't break any of them!! It's mainly time consuming more than anything else. If you know what your doing it shouldn't take more than an hour or so. Good luck!
