Hey im looking at this 03 s2k for sale. Just wondering what are things to look out for when buying this thpe of car. Imma honda guy but have only had ef eg and ek before.

The car has 78000 miles
Lowered on new megan one peice coilovers
Has comp tech intake
Some type of black header to stock exhaust
its sazuka blue with blue and black interior
an air/fuel guage in numbers?
Oil psi guage
And a apexi vtech controler.
Title is clean and body is flawless

I guess what im asking is what are common problems of 03s and what should the air/fuel guage and oil psi guage read at idle an normal and when vtec cracks???

 

These questions have been asked countless times, try searching around.

 

If I were buying a used S, I'd personally stay away from ones with gauges and the cheep mods you mentioned. There is no reason for additional gauges unless forced induction is used. There are a number of used ones on the market with less or no modifications available. IMO- keep looking.

Yo Brah!!! I just picked up a 2000 s2k, and When I went to look at it yo, I was like. Brah I gots to drive dis to make sure that the Vtech, Goes like MMMBAAAA and not just mmmbaaaa. Bc me and yous both knows if it just goes mmmbaaaa ***** wack as crack homie. My mans had this ebay wack **** called cusco on dis s2k so I was like ya Bro. Was dis wack ****. Tryin to be all paul walker and **** up on my new whip. But I was liek das cool yo, its got dees suppa rare jdm wheels. they called rotas. If u can finds a set i say gets um. and if you can only find 2 das cool. 2 is better then nones yo. I paid liek 35g's for mines and its only gots like da 230,769 miles so ya knows its still made tyte. I orderd a turbo kit from my mans at ss auto chromes and ima bees puttins down liek 800 ******' But my man hit me ups if u needs to axe any ?'s.

Cheap *** parts means he doesnt give a crap about his car and probably abused the hell out of it. He may have paid some kid to wash and wax it, other than that, it sounds like you will have axle issues if he didnt buy any driveshaft spacers with those coilovers.

 

+1, I would worry more about what the owner messed up. Get as close to stock as you can find, by 03 Honda had the car pretty sorted. Visually, check for a VIN on each body panel, check the top for wear. Mechanical, drive what you know is a well cared for example of one so you know what passes for normal, or have someone familiar with the car test it for you. Problems don't hide themselves well in this car. Plenty of unmolested, properly maintained examples out there if you are patient.
