Putting H22A1 head on my H23 block
So...can it be done? I know it was a popular topic back in the days of HP.com but I havn't seen much about it lately. Have any of you done it? I hear it is good because you have V-tec and the strength of the better block. But what all needs to be done? Do I need a new ECU and new injectors? what about my throttle body and intake manifold...will an aftermarket V-tec AFC work with this setup? let me know what you guys know...thanks.

h23a block and h22a head? are you serious? ive never heard of this one before...
seriously though, use the search button on this page and look for the h22/h23 hybrid and you'll find plenty of info. the good thing about this conversion is you get the power of vtec and gain the torque and displacement of the h23a block. both blocks are just as strong as one another, however if you want to run aftermarket pistons you have to re-sleeve any H series block. A few of the guys on this board have done this swap and pulled it off, talk to them... im sure they'll post here sooner or later.

Yes, its possible to do this coversion, but you're have oil leaks and will always have to check your oil..Reason being, you have to drill new oil lines in order for VTEC to work properly.....This is the same as doing an LS/VTEC swap but with a bigger motor
