Default question about skunk 2 mega power cat back

I recently went to get my car checked for a inspection. the mechanic told me my catalytic converter needs to fixed/replaced.

Im planning on buying a new exhaust system anyway, so im wondering if i did buy the system above does it come with the converter ?

tried googling it and couldn't get anything...

to answer your question simply, NO.

The exhaust you're looking at is a cat back, which gets it's name from it being from the catalytic converter to the end of the exhaust.

Why did they say you needed a new catalytic converter? Emissions reasons?

Hes more than likely ripping you for money and labor. Cats usually dont go bad.

That's actually terribly incorrect. Cats go bad alot more often than you'd think and a p0420 is a catalyst efficiency below threshold code. I doubt they are ripping you off, but do some shopping around for prices.
