100,000 miles turbo??????
I just bought a 98 honda prelude, it has 105,000 miles on it can i still safely put a turbo on it. Also I couldnt find a manual so im stuck with the automatic, is it alright to put the turbo on the auto?
thanks
thanks
I don't know how well the auto trannys hold up to boost, somebody with an auto in this forum may be able to tell you though...with a 105k you could boost, but I would consider rebuilding a few things in on the motor itself first, just to be safe.
this might not help to much because your car is auto, but i turboed my gsr at 99k miles and it runs likes a charm, my best advice get a compressoin test done asap
I have a friend with a 96 integra LS sedan, auto, with an FMAX turbo kit. He ran consistant high 13's on 17 inch STREET tires at 12 - 14lbs of boost, full interior. Ran great like that for two years untill the motor broke a rod through the block. That was with stock internals, and auto tranny with custom torque converter (higher stall speed).
He is now building a 92 hatch, B16 AUTO with the turbo looking for 12's so turbo and auto work fine together.
Hope this helps,
-Jeff

i think a rebuilt motor would be a good idea, especially on the H22A.
I put a turbo on my 93 Si (manual) at 101,xxx miles. Still going strong(knock on wood)
