How long has it been since you replaced the drum shoes? They may just need adjustment, though.

PS. What's up with the signature? Is that just a comical statement?

Lack of lubrication on the moving parts of the drum brake assembly is also a possibility. Mine used to squeak when I released the brake pedal.

Ah, yeah I figured that might be it. Drove me nuts for quite a long time until I finally got around to disassembling the drum brakes and applying some much-needed lube.

The shoes were still good, so I didn't bother replacing them at the same time.

There's a lot more to it than just spraying a spring. All the sliding/moving parts should be lubricated.

Next time I have my drums off, for whatever reason, I'll take a photo and point out the locations that need to be lubed, but it's any point where the assembly is hinged or has a sliding-contact point, basically. Just don't get carried away with it, and don't get any on the brake shoes.
