Icon3 Help with 94 Accord Engine problem (urgent)

While anticipating the routine smooth start that my 94 Accord EX wagon usually has, I experienced a very rough start today. The car starts smooth with no real problems in park (other than the rough idle that I've had for many months). When i proceeded to put the car in gear, the idle dropped from 1200 RPMs to about 700 RPMs and the engine began to miss.

The car currently sits in the garage; out of service. I have checked the spark plugs for oil. It does have a history of leaking oil around the distributor cap, but I checked that too and there was no sign of any real oil problem there.

So, in all, I have taken the following steps so far -
1. Checked the distributor cap for any sign of oil
2. Swapped out the distributor cap for a backup as a test
3. Checked all spark plugs for any sign of oil.

The main symptoms are an extreme drop in power and a horrible, rough missing feel when putting the car in neutral or in gear. All symptoms disappear while the car is in park.

Note: The car ran flawlessly yesterday, with no sign of any issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated, since this is my every-day-driver. Thanks

I had about the same problem with my car. What I did was go to Auto Zone and get a bottle of Sea Foam (it's in a white bottle and only 10$) pour that in your gas tank and just drive it. There's also smaller bottles of stuff from STP that help also; but I recommend Sea Foam.

Thank you for your response R_Pizz3l. At this point, I'm willing to try almost everything, and that sounds like a very plausible solution. I'll have to try that first thing tomorrow.

You can try cleaning out the iacv there's a thread about it in the FAQ section.

^ agree.....also, I assume the tune up items are up to date-you say no oil on the plugs but not sure if you mean on the outside (since the tube seals will leak) or actually pulled them from the head and inspected them.

Is the CEL on or are there any stored codes. Have the egr ports/chamber ever been cleaned.

Another thing you can do with the seafoam is take the hose going from ur break booster to ur intake manifold and suck it threw that but slowly dont poor it in the car will start smoking alittle then shut the car off after using about a quarter oof the car and wait 5 minutes then start it up and rev it a few times till te smoke stopes!
