Looking into getting a CRX.... advice and such please?
Looking at giving up my 2006 RSX type S and getting into a 1990 CRX Si. I found one on Craigslist and went to check it out this afternoon: http://lafayette.craigslist.org/cto/2500508579.html
He is mistaken on the b16 part of his description.... its got the d16a6 in there.
Body is in pretty darn good shape, runs and idles pretty alright, and interior is a 10/10 considering its the same age as me.
concerns:
-AC is not hooked up how hard is it to get that all working again?
This is Louisiana and its hot as FUQ.
-Check engine light is on
-headlights and taillights are probably from ebay but dont look too bad
-shifter feel is kinda squishy (maybe just the old bushings?)
-really hard to tell when the clutch is starting to grab (needs adjustment)
Its a cable style clutch, right?
Hes willing to take 2200, all things considered is this worth it? The idea behind the trade out of the rsx is that my dad will use the rsx to put miles on instead of the trans am and i will drive the car i wanted in the first place (6 years ago)

I wouldnt pay that much for it. Find out why the CEL is on. yes its a cable clutch and very easy to adjust. I havnt driven an EF with a tight shifter yet, they are 20+years old. as far as the A/C, it shouldnt be to hard to get it back up.
I have a DC2 as my DD and there is no chance in hell i'd give that up for my CRX (or 98% of the ef's out there.)

I really dont put that many miles on my car. It mostly sits in my apartment complex. I think if i showed up with 2k cash he would take it though.
I wouldn't get this one, unless you talked him down a little. Wait a bit and you might can find a good one for a better price. "if he doesn't come down on the price"
I would look at numbers 4, 5, and 7...
