not long ago i painted my zc valve cover a gunmetal sort of dark gray color with dupicolor hi-temp engine paint, most people i notice seem to leave their timing belt cover off either just cause they like how it looks, or cause they have problems shuting the hood with it on, but i keep my timing belt cover on cause i want to protect the timing belt from stuff getting on it and try to keep it good for as long as i can before having to replace it.
so after painting the valve cover it looked cool instead of the plain old black factory color, but now i notice the timing belt cover is black plastic, which is ok, .......
but i was wondering, is there a way i can paint the black plastic timing belt cover so it matches the same color as the valve cover ???, so it all looks like one single unit, all matching ?,
like is there a high-temp paint that is good for using on plastic parts in the engine bay ???
and if so has anyone used it with good results ???, or is it not worth doing, cause chipping off etc....??
i was wondering not only for the timing belt cover, but if i found a good hi-temp paint good for use on plastics, i could paint some other plastic parts inside the engine bay too ......

just use a plastic primer and regular paint the timing cover doesn't get that hot ...hence why its made of plastic....ive done even valve covers in o.e. matching colors without using high temp and they last for years

so since you say the timing belt cover does'nt get that hot, then would i even have to buy a paint thats even labeled as a "hi-temp" type of paint?? or you think regular would do fine? like Duplicolor regular for plastic?
i could try to see if the same hi-temp engine paint i used for the valve cover would work on the timing belt cover, cause then it would be matching all one color,
i read it helps to sometimes mildly rough up plastic with mild sand paper so the surface has something more to grip to,
