need help on who makes good lug nuts that the paint wont chip off of ?

No one I know of, the best thing you can do is buy a good 6 point 19mm socket and be careful removing and tightening them.

I did see a socket at the corvette forum that had a nylon insert to help with chrome nuts, and back in the old days they used to sell teflon coated sockets, but they didn't work that well.

 

Project kic R40 or Mugen #7 lug nuts.

 

I've had a set of black mutegi's <sp> for about two years, and they're pretty good. they haven't been scuffed and I take my wheels off fairly often.

Plastic covers are the answer here. No worries about chipped paint, easily replaceable, cheap.

And they come in fun shapes.
