Does the maint required flash at every 6k? Is this Hondas replacement for the color changing square at the bottom of gauge cluster?

it starts flashing b4 7500 miles...
once you get to 7500 miles it will stay on constantly
to reset it...theres a little squarish button right underneath the dash

Yes, the color changing squares found on all hondas, this is the same thing basically.
You can either take it to the Acura dealership and get charged $60 an hour for a guy to turn it off, or you can do it yourself. There's a button way underneath the steering column, holding it in will cause the light to stay on for a second, then it will go away.
Just be warned though, doing it this way will knock off 5,000 miles off the life of your motor every time.

I turned it off with the reset button as soon as it came on, I remembered where it was from my brothers R, but I don't remember his light ever coming on...I just started my car and it didn't come back on, The dealership changed my oil at about 5600 maybe they didnt reset it...does every think this is normal.

The Check Engine light will be the light to watch for should anything ever go wrong with your car.
The maintenance required light is just used as a remind for you that you should maybe check your petro, brake fluid, coolant level, and maybe refill your window washer fluid. Stuff that an R owner SHOULD already do on a regular basis! Don't worry about it bro, worry when the "CHECK ENGINE" light comes on
