negative batter post gets super hot

Default negative batter post gets super hot

Aite so this is what's my car shut down all of a sudden and everything shut down I went to pop the hood and when I moved the negative battery terminal it felt hot and thre sparks and all of a sudden the guages worked and everything just wouldn't start. It got so hot it smelled like if someone was welding and the cover sleeve on the negative battery terminal got burnt inside out I've never seen this

i would take both terminals off and clean them with sand paper or a scotch brite pad. then put it back together and tighten everything. follow the ground too and make sure it's still connected on the frame and transmission. GL
