The crown wheel and pinion in the rear axel are not straight cut and are only designed to run in one direction.

It's not reverse rotation. Intake manifold and exhaust mani are in the stock location.

As I know someone who built reverse rotation engines and some rear wheel Honda's, I asked him. This one is reversr rotion, watch the cam gears, and notice the belt is routed differently. Most rearends cannot be flipped because of lubrication problems, 1(one) the small speedway midget rearend can be as it was designed that way. The English Ford, Escort one cannot be. Those of you that heard VTEC must think the owner wasted alot on the $8000.00+ gearbox that would not keep the engine in the power band. No VTEC on that engine, just a regular 4-valve.

things spinning at a high rate of speed (~500rpm) can give the illusion of rotating in the opposite direction. notice when they rev it up it looks like its going the other way.
i may be wrong, but i just don't buy it.

This car ia owned by Barry Ryan and the fiat engine was built by Keith and the head work was done by Guy Croft. The B16b is also from Keith at 1650cc. We will Both be out in Galway, Barry in the escort and I'm in a civic.
