b16a all motor blox type c cam centerline
hi i have buy used blox type c cams for my b16a engine
tha cams at each side at tthe end write the letter c so i know it is type c
my problem is that even blox do not know the centerline or opening /closing valve events so i must find it
tell me if my process is right ?
the one way to find centerline is if you know open and close event int-exh valve but cause the head is mill and the cams is not degee right the open and close events is not right at this time so we do the other way
2 way:
set indicator to retainer int or exh and turn engine until stop indicator is max lift and set zero indicator
turn opossite until go back to zero and turn normal rotation until go 0.040(blox measure at 0.040)write the degree at crank
turn again until go 0.040 at closing side and write again degrees
we add together the degrees and divide them by 2 =centerline
if i am wrong please tell me
at last my head is mill by 9/10 and i have 0.030 gasket so i want to tell me as i know if for each 0.010 mill i must advance int and exh at 1 degree is that right ???

thanks red sir so all that i read that for every 0.010 or 0.015 i must advance 1 crank degree is wrong ?when you say for every 0.040 i must advance 1 cam degree the intake and exhayst ??? about to find the centerline is right my process on cams that we do not centerline ?
Remember the crank turns 2 revolutions for every 1 revolution of the camshaft(s). So for every .040" removed, you would advance both cams equally, 1 cam degree, which is equal to 2 crank degrees, depending on how your cam gears are marked. .020" would require you to advance .5 cam degrees or 1 crank degree to correct for milling. Generally, you don't need to worry about making cam corrections until you're over .040" removed.
Have you tried googling what you're looking for on the net to find those cam specs? You're saying you called Blox and they can't answer your questions about their cams?

They are more along the line of the tuner series cams. I believe the bloxC's run the junIII vtec lobe. Sitting them @ 0/0 will be fine.
If I knew, I would have answered that question. He also asked about milling and the amount of correction....I knew that answer and gave it. Am I missing something here or are you?
They are the exact copy of the Jun 3 cams, in every way.

I know that.. thats why i said, treat them like a tuner series cam.. they'll like the +int/-exh settings.. but drop them in @ 0/0 for now.
thanks you help me very much .... i have mill my head 9/10 do you know how is 9/10 in inch?and i use 0.030 gasket so how i find the total mill of my head ?i must subtract oem gasket from aftermarket gasket and that number add to 9/10 mill? yes i have call blox blox the only that know is the diration and lift of cams all the others says to degree the cams to dyno nothing else
