Default head gasket q's

ok i reused a head gasket cause i ordered a new one for turbo and it hadent came in yet. my idle fluctuates once fully warmmed up like from 1500 down to idel and back up. it is totally drive able you just have to rev to 2000 while at a light.

is this the head gasket? or intake mani gasket?

i know my head gasket is leaking oil down the side of my engine so i though it was my headgasket for sure. could it be other things? does a headgagstkit caues this.

THX

My engine does this sometimes too revs up and down, but only sometimes, not verry often, and I do have an unknown oil leak, plus im sure I need a new head gaskes soon. So my guess would be head gasket. But I dont know, mine only does it not verry often at all.

good lawd thats not a good sign... with a ton f oil leakin out you gotta be careful your motor doesnt get under lubricated and blow itself sky high... as far as the idle, it sounds like a vacuum leak... all hoses connected properly? intake manny gasket sealing?

I doubt the headgasket is the problem.

First check all of your vacuum hoses for leaks/cracks.
Then replace the intake manifold gasket, then the throttle body gasket.

If it still fluctuates, then it's most likely your EACV... You could try cleaning the inside out and see if that helps... Also mess around with the idle speed screw...

If that doesn't do anything, you'll probably have to buy another EACV.

I cured my surging idle by adjusting the idle screw on the throtle body. I backed it out a little bit and everything was fine.
