Default Exhaust question

I searched around and asked a few people what their opinions were and now I am posting this question. I have the comptech header and stock cat. Im looking to get an exhaust that will work good with those two peices. A friend of mine is selling his tanabe racing medalion which is the jap spec one that comes made with no bottlenecks. He is selling it at a good price too. However, I think the size of the piping is like 2.38 inches (does anyone know if thats correct?). Will that work well with my setup? I like that idea of having no bottlenecks. My other choice is having my stock exhaust's bottlenecks taken out. Im wondering how much that costs on average and what type of performance that will be? I dont care about how my car sounds and if its loud or not. Im looking strictly at which will give me the most power. I know exhausts dont give more than 3-5hp anyways but I would like one that will work at full potential. Any advice and sugggestions please? Thanks!

I believe there still is a bottle neck somewhere on the Tanabe. You might want to contact SMSP, the local exhaust expert to be sure.
