Icon6 building a mini me and have a few questions

ok so i have done alot of reading on various forums and read a few different write ups but there is alot of conflicting info and that being said please only post if you have first hand knowledge of this build.

this is going in a stock 89 civic wagon. i will be doing a mpfi conversion which i have done before,
im using a d16a6 bottom end and a d16y8 head along with a d16y8 intake mani, it will be converted to obd1 via a rywire kit and running on a p28.

my question is what distributor do i need for this set up?
thanks for your input

obd1 non vtec is what you need. There is no such thing as a vtec dizzy just different bolt patterns. The ob1 vtec dizzys wont bolt to your head. You could also use a obd2 d series dizzy if you change the plugs on it to obd1.

thank you so much, i have the d16y8 dizzy that came with it, i was just unsure of it. alot of people think that the obd2 dizzy send signals differently.
also have you personally run it this way or know first hand of someone who did. thanks again

.... guys seriously? o/p you run the y8 distributor. obd1 and obd2 are compatible, you will simply need the obd2 dizzy plug and you're set. don't rig something up that sets yourself up for failure. do it right the first time

Just to confir... I just did this on an old friends vehicle and it works fine. Complete D16Y8 engine (distributor too) running off a P28 ECU.
