2001 Accord Check Engine Light does not Work?
Looking at buying a 2001 Accord, 54k miles looks and seems to run great!
My mechanic says the Check engine light has been disconnected, or is broken and there is an 02 sensor problem.
He fears it was disconnected by someone possibly hiding a bigger problem, though his meter shows only the oxygen sensor fault"
Any thoughts or comments?
How do you fix a check engine light? Does not come on at start up and the meter shows it should be lit because of the Oxygen sensor?

when you start up the car, the check engine light should come on and then turn off...
if it stays on, then you have a dtc (diagnostic trouble code) if it doesnt come on at all, chances are that the prevoius owner removed the bulb out of the gauge cluster. 2001 accord clusters are fairly easy to remove the clusters and check to see if the bulb was removed.
the car is obd2, so your mechanic should be able to hook up a scan tool to check all pending dtc's. if you just have an 02 code, than just diagnois that code.
