I have a 1988 crx si d16a6 that needs a timing belt an water pump job done. The front main crankshaft seal is leaking slightly.............should I just replace the seal or the entire oil pump? car has 220k miles

If you want to save money then check the clearances while inspecting the the pump. The other option is to see if you have the funds and just buy a replacement. Finally, you could just replace the seal and leave it all alone.

It's a matter of personal conscience, for me personally I would just replace the pump... D-series pumps are known to fail.
