is amsoil for my tranny good?
ive been using amsoil for my engine oil and i love it. but ive been getting conflicting responses on wheather i should use it for my2001 accord lx 4cyl auto tranny or not. some people say that if you use any other tranny oil than honda, ur tranny will break and some people say that amsoil meets the standards and exceeds the oil standards honda has placed so its better.
I use mobil NON synthetic high mileage engine oil and before that came out i just used plain old mobil clean 5000 oil and never had a problem and i beat the crap out of my cars used plain mobil for almost ten years never thought there was ever ever a need for spending extra money on expensive synthetic oils unless you got a twin turbo supra and your on boost all day lol,but im not hating at all i give you props for wanting to take good care of your car and put nothing but the best but Dw-1 Honda fluid is what you should only use in that auto tranny

Honestly? Overkill.
I did it for awhile but decided just to use Castrol Edge Titanium or Mobil 1 Extended Performance at shorter intervals in my cars.
For transmission however I've always stuck with Honda MTF or ATF.

On A side note honda did something with less friction modifier and i dont know if the amsoil auto fluid meets the new requirement of the dw-1

i think u would notice the difference in how smoothly ur car runs and how fast ur car goes up the rpms if u switched to amsoil. i had a 3.5 rl and it was serviced with nonsynthetic and when i switched to amsoil just to try it out i really noticed the difference thats when i started using it regularily and its nice to only have to change ur oil once a year or every 30000 miles especially for me cause i drive about 27k a year and im very busy with 2 jobs and school.

yes they do make a filter that lasts that long. in fact they tell u not to use any other filter if you want the one year or 30K mile warranty. by the way i recently found out amsoil makes injen's air intake filters as well
Nice,i might look into that amsoil for my contour svt since i only drive it in the winter spring months and its kinda my fun project car its not hella fast but fun to drive and ive loved them since they made them....while this 6th gen accord auto i have is my daily till the engine goes then idk what ill do with it lol
what u want to do is go on amsoil website and find a dealer and ask them if you can buy the oil at the dealer rate its about 2dollars cheaper per quart. i have been buying with dealer rate for the last 3 years

Honestly, no oil should be run for 30,000 miles without a used oil analysis..
Honestly, NOT over 15,000 miles without used oil analysis..
But you engine, your money, and you blindly believing marketing hype about "long-life 30,000 miles oil filters" etc...
Personally just buy a "normal" oil that you can get in a shop and not have to buy online..
For the transmission, don't ignore the general consensus and just use the honda fluid.. It will be cheaper than your amsoil and is DESIGNED specifically for you vehicle..
