Default How to clean fuel injectors

How to clean fuel injectors when you have them off? Or is it better to just runs some fuel injector cleaner through the gas tank later after you have everything hooked up.

It's pretty much useless to try to clean them while they're out unless you have the right equipment to operate them and get the cleaner through them. Cost is about $40 each to have them profesionaly done. Honda injectors are pretty well made. I would just re-install them and use injector cleaner like Techron in the fuel tank if you must.

Perfectionist is right the way we do Nissan injectors in the car is hook up our fuel injector cleaner tank, basically take off the fuel line going to the injectors and run it into the special can that has cleaner in it. Turn the fuel pump off, and pinch the fuel return line, and use compressed air for pressure. This works just sweet, especially on the high milage cars. I did it to my friends civic and my girlfriends integra. But if you dont have the equipment, it can be a bit tough, so the best way is to take the injectors out and get them balanced and tested. look in your local phonebook at call around to some Carb repair shops, they usually know of a place that can clean them for you. Should be about 20-30 bucks per injector to clean.
most places will show you a before and after sheet as well.

But you would be suprised, most honda injectors are just fine...
