No major problem till morning before last. Went to start and was hard to start but started and check engine light came on.

Checked code, came up 15. Diagnosed as possible bad battery. Took batt to be tested and came back batt still charged up to full (after 20 mins). Also, alternator and starter came up ok. Did not check distributor.

Batt check store said cant do anything with batt till it comes up with a bad cell.

Went to start to bring home, check light still on and still not starting as well as normal. Noticed when using turn signal, engine check light pulsing with turn signal.

Came home, removed neg. batt terminal connection and checked to make sure water in batt (full). Will reconnect batt in an hour or so to see what if any thing changes.

Any ideas??

15 Ignition output signal

I think that has to do with the igniter or coil for the distributor. Does your Tach work fine?

 

Hi, my tach is working fine. I have had this distrib (aftermarket) for about 3 years. I am thinking it is the distributor. I am going to check the cap and rotor before I make the plunge into buying another aftermarket distrib.
