Default maintenance required light

i just got back from a week long trip, and i think my maintenance required light is on. i cant tell for sure because it doesnt seem very bright, but its red now and im pretty sure it was yellow when i left it...
if it is on, what do i do? what do i start checking?

That light just tells you when you need a oil change, and any other regular maintenance.

What year and model?

If it is a 94-97 it is not a light, just a little colored piece of plastic. Stick your key in the hole next to it to reset.

cant tell if trolling, or just stupid...

muffinman- its a 92.
i looked at it tonight in the dark and it doesnt seem to be lit up, its just red. everything sounds the same and runs fine on the car, so im not too woried
