CV Shafts Causing Clutch Chatter?
that sounds more like an engine issue/shudder. CV joints will cause vibration when the inner joint wears out or becomes pitted (as i've recently discovered..) but it's usually durring accelaration only (when the axles are loaded in the positive direction)
what shape is the engine in? when was it last serviced/tuned-up?

It hasnt been tuned up in at least 5-6 years. The engine runs strong, I haven't had any problems with it ever.
The car only does this when I first start it in the morning, and it started this spring when it got out of the 20's F. The CV Shafts both need to be changed, but I havn't gotten around to it, thats why I ask.
The car is a 1991 Honda Accord 2-Door LX with 167,000 miles.
Only when accelerating from first gear, other gears seem to grab hard. After the car warms a bit and stops it shaking even first gear grabs hard.

Sorry to bring back the dead, but I still havn't changed the joints and now it makes clunks on acceleration, is this the cv. It only does it when the car is cold.
