I forget how to tell EF Si/Ex front suspension from Dx junk.... I wanna say the Si/Ex has 32 splines & the Dx has 28 splines. Am I correct????? I buying an "Si/Ex" front suspension & I wanna make sure it is what he says it is! Catch my drift???
Si is not the same as EX (4dr).
EX is much bigger rotor. The knuckle is stamped differently... i forget exactly. perhaps SHA or something. i have pics in some other thread...
Si can be the same as DX. ONLY the 90-91 CRX, not 3dr civic Si, has a different front caliper, but the rotor and the knuckle is the same. otherwise, Si is the same as DX.
the HF has smaller rotor and caliper, the hub is smaller and has the different spline.

POSITIVE!!!!???? Not trying to be a D*CK!!!!!!!!!! I could have swore there was a spline difference... Because I have a 98 GSR motor swap & a 11" 94-95 Legend front disc brake swap for my 88 CRX DX that will bolt on to my car with no issues at all...

Forget everything we have said....
Your saying an Ex/Si hub assembly / spindle is the same as a Dx hub assembly / spindle
AND THAT
my 94-95 Legend Dual piston caliper & bracket will bolt up on to my Dx hub assembly / spindle with no modding of any kind AND I'm just wasting my $$$$$$$$ buying a Ex/Si hub assembly / spindle

i AM saying, and HAVE SAID that EX is NOT the same as SI.
i will repeat for you.
EX is NOT the same as SI.
do you understand? stop asking about "EX/Si".
finally, no that dual piston will NOT bolt up to your DX without some modifying a bracket or something. its detailed in some the "cheapest brake improvement" thread or something. basically its a lot of work and NOT bolt on.

I started this thread LOOKING for a SPLINE COUNT. I thought there were spline differences between the Dx & Si hubs & that was the easiest way to tell them apart!!!!! I know there are differences in Ex & Si brakes! If the splines are the same between the Dx & Si. How can I tell that they are Si front knuckles that will allow me to bolt on my Legend Front BRAKES???????????????????
We have been talking about 2 different things this entire time!!!!!!

they cant. so theres nothing to tell.
i know exactly what im talking about.
you, are confused. and the answer is NO, you cant use those brakes without modification.
and you probably need DA or EX knuckles since they need a bigger rotor too.

ill make it easy for you. yes they (Si and EX) have the same spline count. but the SI and EX are NOT the same knuckle.
here are pics of the stamping found on 90-91 Civic Sedan EX knuckles. and right next to them is a comparison with my old SI set up. you can see the difference right away. and NO your legend calipers will not work with anything other than the EX knucles (and DA) on an 88-91 civic/crx chassis.
pics are of the brake set up on my 90 DX

DX, SI, EX, same spline count. HF is the one with the different spline.
and like Tyson said, you can't just BOLT ON legend front brakes.
^^^ beat me to it
