The car runs fine once it starts and holds. But, intermittently it will turn over and crank and then stall out. I can get a throttle reaction but only momentarily. I recently started having a shifter solenoid issue that may be related.

 

I'm aware of the issue. Definitely a main relay issue. Some get a new one, others take the old out, re-solder the joints and put back in.

Google it, check it out.

I tried the main relay (new) and i did not help. 1 more detail though- the engine will continue to run as long as I hold the key! And now the problem is continuous. Any further help would be greatly appreciated!

 

Key switch.....see if you can return the relay for the key switch....as alway TEST things before replacing on a guess. Key to ON, is there power at the BLK/YEL wire at the dist?????

Main relay, I would have asked about the CEL coming on and going off when the key is in pos II.

For the key switch I would have asked which lights on the dash are on when the car dies.....but that is me.
