some questions about hyperflex energy bushing kits
My original bushings are pretty much all shot and need replaced... I'm restoring my rex for a good ride, not racing.
An example:

1. Would this be an ideal kit for my application?
2. Do they last long? How durable is the material they use?
3. Is there a difference between the red and black kits? I've noticed the red kits always seem to cost slightly more.

Here's the ES site.

You may want to look around on the internet for a real online store rather than ebay. $140 on ebay doesn't seem like a great price, but I don't know.

That is the CRX kit so ... yeah, it's ideal for your CRX.

HYPER-FLEX™ is Energy Suspension's unique and technically advanced chemical formulation performance polyurethane. HYPER-FLEX™ has been used on Energy's products that have been awarded 9 U.S. Patents.
Durability is superior to most rubber components that are used for cars, trucks and SUVs. Road salt, oil, and a host of other common under car contaminants will eventually destroy the rubber bushings on your vehicles, not to mention the weight and torque forces that typically compress most rubber permanently! HYPER-FLEX™ replacement polyurethane components stand up well to contaminants that often destroy rubber and have been engineered to give longer-lasting performance and not compress permanently.

Question: What is the difference between the Energy Suspension® red and black polyurethane components?
Answer: Both are our Energy's HYPER-FLEX™ performance polyurethane formulations. Energy has impregnated selected black polyurethane components with graphite to add a lubrication property. Additionally, both Energy Suspension® red and black polyurethane components are engineered differently than OEM rubber components to be free a floating and non-binding design. This allows for the additional durometer (firmness) of the components, which adds to the performance improvement of the vehicle overall. Through its 25 years of design and formulation of polyurethane, Energy's polyurethane components are the best on the market today.

Thanks for the links, EF.
Ok, so far, the company claims they are more durable.
However, I've had a few people say they aren't.
Has anyone else tried these kits first hand? Opinions?

I have had both the red kits and black kit on three EF's now. The have good and not so good qualities depending on who you talk too.
They are a good alternative to OEM rubber and they do allow your car to handle noticeably better even on a stock application(non-racing).
They can be a little noisy if not properly lubricated with the supplied grease or after several years of use in which case all you have to due is clean/lube them again.
They due cause your car to ride just a little more rigid which is due to the polyurethane material itself obviously being stiffer than rubber. This can be especially more noticeable if the car is modified with aftermarket suspension.
The black kits are supposed to be "quieter" but I've never had an issue with either if properly installed/lubricated.
They can and do last a long time. I have driven all of my cars regularly for several years and have yet to see one fail. I know road race vehicles may have different results.
In the end its up to you. There is a little bit of a trade off as is with most performance products. I personally thought the significantly improved handling was worth it. Good luck.

Polyurethane will last longer than rubber.
I used the red kit and had no issues.
It is a stiffer material so your ride will not be stock - you will feel more vibration and such from the road and engine if you do the full kit.
The shifter bushings are amazing over rubber. One of the best parts to the kit!
don't bother with the ball joint sleeves. They just slide over your ball joints and just protect from the elements... no upgrade there really.
