Can anyone give me some recommendations for an alarm this price range? With the usual, like starter kill, backup battery, maybe blackjax (if its worth it, or doesn't cost too much), etc.

Please let me know what you think, thanks.

Well Helen...not to be a jerk...but the are several alarms that can fit in this price range...heck any alrm can fit in this price range..

A few words of advice...Ask yourself a few basic questions:
1) What do I want to protect? The car,its contents or both.
2) What special features I want...such as remote doorlocks, start car on a hot or cold day so I can drive in comfort, open a hatch or trunk lid when I have my hands full of packages...etc
3) How easy it it to use.....does anyone else drive the car besides me
4.)where do I park..on the street...in a lot...a garage

You seem to have a grasp of things....write down your answers and take them to a local specialist...If the are real good..they will take the time to go over your list with you and explain all the options and which system best fits your needs.

good luck
