I'll apologize ahead of time if this is offensive to any one, but why is this cool? Is it just for low end torque? Wouldn't putting in a big heavy engine throw off the design and balance of the car? Couldn't you get just as good of numbers with forced induction? To me the engine of the S2K is one of the most fascinating details, and it seems like a down grade.

The motor is 40 pounds more then the F motor. Sits behind the axles and will make way more power with bolt ons then the F motor could dream of. You could also fix the motor from auto zone parts. You can put a cam in the LS1 and make over 500. a turbo set up on the F motor making that power would be around 8 grand. Then if you want more power the LS1 could make over 800 on pump as all day unlike the F motor needing race gas.

in a good way? I love the F20 but you just cant get enough power out of it on pump gas and by enough power i mean +800.

As nice as the F20/F22 is, it has it's downsides. Torqueless, difficult to extract power out of it without adding a turbo... even then, it's not super reliable unless you build it properly.

I don't see why anyone would swap in a v8 into a street S2000... but for a track or drag car... makes a ton of sense.

You got some serious connects if you live in Cali, cause there is no way in hell this thing is getting by CARB. We have smog checks and all kinds of crap. Plus I'd just drive the Vette in the first place. Seems like a waste of time and money. But if you got both... by all mean Do eeeet!
