Default remove subframe to install brake and fuel lines.

I got a 2000 civic SI that came from VT, which is basically has harsh winter season. i bought this with blown motor after installing a jdm b16a swap and about to test drive it but the brake pedal get floored and then discovered that brake fluid is flowing into my garage floor. when i remove the plastic brackets the brake lines are rusted and the fuel lines look like needs replacement.

if i would replace them with OEM pre bent, i would need to remove the subframe. can i remove the subframe without removing the engine? how to remove the steering rack.. and how hard to remove the subframe. if there is a write up about kind post the url address. i would appreciate it..

Yes, I've done it before, for that reason.

Leave the rack attached to the subframe. Leave the lines attached to the rack. Just unbolt the clips that hold the power steering line to the frame rail (there's only a few bolts) and disconnect the lines from the pump. Then remove the bolt that holes the U-joint at the bottom of the steering column to the rack. Unbolt the 6 or 8 large bolts holding the subframe as well as the bolt that goes through the rear mount.

I completely removed mine. Not sure if you can get away with just dropping it down a bit.

Removing the subframe is a giant pain. If I were in the same situation, I'd cut the old lines out and just insert and bend the lines as needed. No, homemade won't look as nice, but it will function the same.

Subframe removal is pretty simple, I'd done it a few times and really wasn't a big deal.
